Goodbye, Nuey

Yesterday we lost one of our kitties. Very sudden. Just the day before he'd been running around and playing like a kitten, though he had lost most of his hearing over the winter.

He came to us as a half-starved stray at least 8 or 10 years ago but turned into a very handsome boy once he was getting regular meals. His favorite place to take a snooze was on a quilt. I'm going to miss him....he was my alarm clock every morning....who could sleep through that loud meowing??  He made it his business to get his share of my breakfast most mornings, now I only have one cat to silently stare at me until I give her a little bit.  Rest in peace, buddy.

  1. So sorry to hear that--those animals get into our hearts and become members of our family--don't they!

  2. Oh, I am so sorry to hear this... But playing up until the last minute? That is the way I want to go too! What a beauty he was!! Give your other kitty double the love.

  3. I just discovered your blog and am so interested partly because I grew up in northeast Nebraska. I wonder where you actually are and would like to make your acquaintance. At this time I live in south central Nebraska. Is there an email address I could use to contact you privately?
    Kind Regards,
    Diane
